They contain trend-setting rules and recommendations for the state of the art and for science. They are relevant for daily practice.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The <strong>VDI guidelines<\/strong> provide comprehensive specifications for <strong>measuring indoor air pollutants<\/strong>. They include regulations on <em>measurement strategy<\/em>, <em>measurement technology<\/em>, the <em>gas chromatographic determination of<\/em> organic<em>compounds in outdoor air and indoor air<\/em>. They also cover the <em>measurement of immissions and indoor air <\/em>and the <em>determination of asbestos in technical products<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>VDI guideline 3492 <\/strong>on<em> &#8220;Measurement of indoor air pollution &#8211; Measurement of immissions &#8211; Measurement of inorganic fibrous particles &#8211; Scanning electron microscope method&#8221;<\/em> is defined by the VDI\/DIN Commission on Air Quality Control (KRdL) &#8211; Standards Committee. It describes a procedure, <strong> <\/strong>which is used to determine fiber number concentrations of inorganic fibrous particles in indoor or outdoor air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Inorganic fibrous particles according to VDI guideline 3492  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the procedure of VDI guideline 3492, <strong>fibrous particles<\/strong> can be assigned to specific <strong>fiber classes<\/strong> such as <strong><em>chrysotile,<\/em> <em>amphibole asbestos<\/em>, <em>calcium sulphate<\/em> or <em>other inorganic fibers<\/em><\/strong>. The fibers are counted and classified using the <strong>SEM\/EDXA<\/strong> (scanning electron microscope\/energy dispersive X-ray analysis)<strong> method<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use of the measuring device SG12 for measurement in accordance with VDI 3492<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsa-messgeraete.de\/SG12-Sampling-device-complete-with-power-supply-and-battery-operation\">GSA measuring device SG12<\/a> <\/strong>and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsa-messgeraete.de\/sampler-GSA50-GSA-50-sampling-head-VDI-3492\"><strong>sampling head for fibers according to VDI 3492<\/strong><\/a> can be used to carry out measurements with regard to possible indoor air contamination. With this combination of both devices, <strong>levels of anorganic, fibrous particles <\/strong>in the outdoor air or indoor air can be accurately measured. According to <strong>VDI 3492<\/strong>, these include asbestos fibers, <strong>KMF<\/strong> and <strong>other inorganic fibers <\/strong>in indoor and outdoor air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sampling head for fibers according to VDI 3492 &#8211; suitable for the SG12<\/strong> <strong>measuring devices<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a <strong>measurement in accordance with VDI 3492 <\/strong>, a suitable sampling head is required for <strong>sampling<\/strong> with the GSA measuring devices<strong> SG12<\/strong>. It is <strong>made of aluminum<\/strong> and has a screw-on hose connection and cap. To measure <strong>indoor air pollutants in accordance with VDI 3492<\/strong>, a cassette fitted with a filter (25 mm filter) must be inserted into the sampling head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsa-messgeraete.de\/SG12-SG-12-sampler-power-supply-cable-suction-tube\">SG12<\/a> measuring device is also suitable for <em>measuring hazardous substances<\/em>.
