However, the <strong>allergenic substances<\/strong> and <strong>environmentally hazardous substances<\/strong> contained in the cleaners are not taken into account.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><br>&#8220;A lot helps a lot&#8221; does not apply to spring cleaning, as these conventional cleaners can have <strong>negative effects on health<\/strong> and the <strong>environment<\/strong> if used in large quantities. The use of <strong>disinfectants<\/strong> is also not without danger, as many people are sensitive to the substances they contain. They can trigger <strong>allergies<\/strong> and <strong>eczema<\/strong>. However, the use of disinfectants in the home may be necessary in medically prescribed cases. Conventional agents <strong>damage aquatic organisms<\/strong> and can <strong>accumulate in the environment<\/strong>. In addition, <em>phosphorus or nitrogen compounds<\/em> contribute to the <strong>over-fertilization <\/strong>of water bodies.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surfactants contained in the cleaning agents are completely biodegradable, but not the phosphonates, synthetic polymers and fragrances. These are less biodegradable. For this reason, <strong>sustainable<\/strong>,<strong> more environmentally friendly<\/strong> <strong>cleaning agents<\/strong> should be used that are as free of such substances as possible.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sustainable cleaning &#8211; protecting the environment and health<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sustainability<\/strong> in household cleaning means <strong><em>&#8220;less is more<\/em>&#8220;<\/strong>. This should also apply to <strong>spring cleaning<\/strong>. Sustainability includes the <em>conscious<\/em> and <em>sparing use of cleaning agents<\/em> whose <em>ingredients are only slightly harmful <\/em>. Hygienic cleaning is also basically possible in this way. The <strong>conscious selection <\/strong>of<strong> <em>more environmentally friendly alternatives<\/em><\/strong> to conventional cleaners means more <em>sustainability<\/em>.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eco-labels help with the selection of environmentally friendly cleaning products  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleaning products labeled with the German eco-label<strong> <\/strong>&#8220;<strong>Blauer Engel<\/strong>&#8221; or the European eco-label<strong> <\/strong>&#8220;<strong>Euroblume<\/strong>&#8221; are a good guide when purchasing cleaning products that are as environmentally friendly as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alternative cleaning agents for the household<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, <strong>no special cleaning agents<\/strong> are required for cleaning the household. <em>All-purpose cleaners, washing-up liquid, bathroom cleaners<\/em>, <em>kitchen cleaners<\/em> and <em>scouring milk<\/em> are sufficient. In many cases, <em>microfiber cloths<\/em> with their fine bristle structures are ideal for thorough cleaning. In general, chemical disinfectants should be avoided unless recommended by doctors, as many people can have allergic reactions. Cleaners based on acids or strong alkalis should also be avoided wherever possible due to the higher environmental and health impact.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alternative household remedies<\/strong> have been known for centuries for simple cleaning. These include the almost universal &#8220;<strong>simple household remedies<\/strong>&#8221; such as <strong>vinegar<\/strong>, <strong>citric acid<\/strong>, <strong>soda<\/strong>, <strong>baking soda<\/strong> and <strong>curd soap<\/strong>. These are generally inexpensive to obtain and fulfill their purpose. Above all, they are <strong>more environmentally friendly<\/strong> and an <strong>alternative to chemical agents<\/strong> with their aggressive substances. <em>Vinegar<\/em>, <em>citric acid<\/em> and <em>baking soda<\/em>, for example, are <strong>easily biodegradable<\/strong>.
