They check the air quality for its current CO2 content and remind you when it is time to ventilate when &#8220;critical values&#8221; are reached. This is done using a traffic light system or acoustic signals, for example.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>If the <strong>CO2 content<\/strong><strong>in the room air <\/strong>increases, the <strong>viral load<\/strong> is also <strong>higher<\/strong>. There is then more exhaled air with aerosols in the air. These can transport <strong>coronaviruses<\/strong> or other viruses, increasing the risk of infection. In this sense, <strong>CO2 measuring devices<\/strong> fulfill an important function and are particularly recommended for<em> use in schools<\/em> and <em>workplaces<\/em>. However, CO2 measuring devices cannot identify coronaviruses.      <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the CO2 measuring devices with the Vira-Pore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A possible infection with coronavirus can be significantly reduced by increasing ventilation. However, it is still possible to become infected with the dangerous coronavirus or other virus variants.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsa-messgeraete.de\/air-sampling-coronavirus\"><strong>virus sampling cassette Vira-Pore<\/strong><\/a> allows coronaviruses or other types of viruses with a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsa-messgeraete.de\/air-sampling-coronavirus\">ZePore<sup>tm<\/sup> filters<\/a><\/strong> and then analyzed by professional testing laboratories. The appropriate ventilation interval can be easily determined using current displays and signals. The <em>CO2 warning function<\/em> of these devices is particularly suitable for <strong>classrooms<\/strong> and <strong>businesses<\/strong>, generally where many people spend long periods of time together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>2008<\/em>, the <em>ad hoc working group on indoor guideline values<\/em><strong> <\/strong>defined <em>health and<\/em> <em>hygiene-based<\/em> <strong>guideline values for the instantaneous concentration of carbon dioxide (C02<\/strong>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carbon dioxide concentration below 1000 ppm = hygienically safe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carbon dioxide concentration from 1000 ppm to 2000 ppm = hygienically conspicuous  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carbon dioxide concentration above 2000 ppm = hygienically unacceptable  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>If the CO2 content in the interior <strong>exceeds 1000 ppm<\/strong> (corresponds to 0.1%) <strong>, ventilation should<\/strong> be provided; <strong>if it exceeds 2000<\/strong> <strong>ppm<\/strong> (corresponds to 0.2%)<strong>, ventilation must <\/strong>be provided. If the conductance value of over 2000 ppm cannot be reduced by ventilation, other suitable measures must be taken, such as fewer people in the rooms or technical air filter systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An <strong>excessively high CO2 content<\/strong>, from 0.1 percent, can already put a strain on health and lead to <em>tiredness<\/em> and <em>lack of concentration<\/em>. The <em>average CO2 concentration <\/em>should therefore remain <em>below 1000 ppm (0.1 %)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Functions of CO2 measuring devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CO2 measuring devices<\/strong> measure the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the room air. They have a <strong>sensor<\/strong> through which the air flow passes, measuring the current proportion of CO2 in the indoor air. The CO2 value determined is often shown on a <strong>display<\/strong> in <strong>&#8220;parts per million&#8221;,<\/strong> abbreviated to &#8220;<strong>ppm<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also <strong>models of CO2 measuring devices<\/strong> that have an easy-to-read <strong><em>traffic light system<\/em><\/strong> such as light bars, from &#8220;green&#8221; for good room air to &#8220;red&#8221; as a signal for a CO2 concentration. Other CO2 measuring devices give <strong><em>acute signals<\/em><\/strong> that give an audible warning if the carbon dioxide content is critically exceeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The devices often have additional functions such as displaying the <em>room temperature<\/em> or <em>humidity<\/em>. This may help to prevent mold growth or reduce its spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Correct locations for CO2 measuring devices in rooms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As with other measuring devices, the <strong>CO2 measuring devices<\/strong> should be positioned approximately <em>at head height<\/em> or at<em> working height, sitting height <\/em>or in the <em>breathing zone<\/em>.
