SG5200 for indoor air measurement

SG5200 measuring device for accurate indoor air measurement in prefabricated houses

The GSA Messgerätebau GmbH offers a range of measuring devices for precise indoor air measurement.

The range of possible pollutants is wide. That’s why we offer a wide range of measuring devices such as the SG5200 to measure pollutants in the home.

Anyone who fulfills their dream of owning their own home wants the best for themselves and their family. Pollutants have no place here.

An indoor air measurement is carried out to rule out indoor air pollution. This is where our measuring devices such as the measuring device SG5200 are used.

The trend towards prefabricated house construction is growing steadily. For example, 550,000 prefabricated houses were planned between 2013 and 2016. In this case, the home is planned in consultation with the future homeowner and built by the company using the prefabricated construction method.

Both the construction company and the homeowner have a great interest in rooms that are free of harmful substances.

During the construction phase, a wide variety of materials are used that may outgas. One example of this is formaldehyde. As this can have an allergenic effect, a measurement to rule out its presence is of particular interest here. Meanwhile, a major test is underway to measure the indoor air in prefabricated houses. In numerous houses, the pollutants in the air of the rooms are examined with our measuring devices.

Measuring device SG5200 in use

The indoor air is measured during the building inspection, for which the company has TÜV-trained samplers at its disposal. They use our measuring device SG5200 for the measurements. It is placed in the rooms to be measured, the volume flow for sampling is set, checked using a flow meter and left there for a two-hour measurement cycle. The contaminated sample tube is then sent to a laboratory for analysis, where it is evaluated. The result provides information about the building materials used and the success of the current ventilation concept.

Indoor air measured – and then?

The measurement results provide important data on the effectiveness of the aeration concept and indicate whether processing procedures can or must be improved. In this way, the pollutants occurring during the storage and processing of the input materials can be checked. If the measured value is outside the specifications, the individual work steps must be closely examined and optimized. If necessary, additional or new protective measures must be taken. For example, a different storage location for the materials must then be found or the generation of dust during their removal must be minimized.
